honored theory employs fire, earth, metal, water and wood as aspects
of the natural world. In the cycle, fire generates earth, earth
generates metal, etc. These elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine
are aligned with physiology and the theory is not only a way of
viewing the natural order, but also a diagnostic and treatment
tool for the physician. The elements also are in relationship
to the internal organs, tissues, sense organs, the seasons, certain
foods and a host of other groups.
Following a plan of acupuncture, herbs and food therapy on a quarterly
basis can boost the immune system and prepare a patient for each
season providing protection from such problems as summer colds,
the flu season, fatigue and a lack of energy.
